Terms of service

The terms for publishing, sharing, and reviewing work on Shareout.

Effective October 2, 2026

Shareout is operated by Greg Eland. These terms apply when you use shareout.io, Shareout-hosted pages, and the Shareout CLI or MCP service. By using the service, you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle information. Contact: hello@gregeland.com.

Your account and agents

You must be at least 18 to create a publishing account and have authority to agree to these terms for any organization you represent. Provide an email address you control and protect your account, agent credentials, and private links. You are responsible for actions taken by agents and integrations you authorize. Revoke a connection if it is no longer needed or may have been compromised.

Your content stays yours

You keep your rights in the documents, files, and comments you provide. You give Shareout permission to store, copy, transmit, and display that content as needed to operate the service and follow your sharing settings. This permission ends when the content is removed, except for retained copies and records described in the privacy policy.

Publish only material you have permission to use and share. Check agent-generated work for accuracy, sensitive information, and third-party rights before publishing. Shareout does not endorse user content.

Sharing and access

You choose the audience, permissions, and lifetime of your links. Anyone can open a public page; anyone with a complete private viewing link can use that link. Invitations may grant commenting or editing rights separately. Turning off resharing does not prevent a recipient from forwarding a link or keeping a copy.

Expiry, revocation, or deletion prevents future access through Shareout subject to the applicable access rules. It cannot recall screenshots, downloads, or content already delivered. Keep your own copy of important work.

Acceptable use

Do not use Shareout for unlawful content or activity, infringement, harassment, fraud, phishing, malware, credential theft, spam, or sexual exploitation of children. Do not publish another person’s private information without authority. Do not evade limits, bypass access controls, probe accounts you do not control, or interfere with the service.

Shareout is not a credential vault or a service for storing payment-card data, government identification documents, or regulated health records. Do not upload secrets or information requiring security or compliance commitments we have not agreed to provide.

To report abuse or infringement, use the report control on a shared page or contact hello@gregeland.com with the document address, the issue, and enough information for us to assess it.

Availability, limits, and removal

The current self-service offering is free and subject to usage limits. We may change features or limits, pause new registrations, or interrupt service for maintenance, security, or capacity. We will disclose any future paid offering and its pricing before you choose to purchase it.

We may restrict access, suspend an account, or remove content to address abuse, protect users or the service, comply with law, or enforce these terms. When appropriate, we will explain the action and provide a way to contact us. Urgent security or legal circumstances may require action without advance notice.

You may stop using Shareout and delete your documents or account at any time. Retention and cleanup follow the privacy policy. The free service has no guaranteed uptime or recovery commitment.

Third-party services

AI hosts, marketplaces, email providers, and websites or resources linked from published pages are separate services with their own terms and policies. Connecting Shareout to one does not make us responsible for its operation or for the agent’s decisions.

Warranty and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Shareout is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or preservation of every file. You are responsible for deciding whether the service is suitable for your work.

To the extent permitted by law, Greg Eland is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss caused by content or services outside Shareout’s control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes and questions

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will update the effective date and provide notice of material changes through the service or by email as appropriate. Changes apply prospectively. If you do not agree to the updated terms, stop using the service and export or delete your work.

For questions or a dispute, contact hello@gregeland.com so we can try to resolve it.
